Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Riding Center was co-founded by Keith and Ann Schaurer and Keith's mother, Sandra Knipe. The Schaurer’s became involved in Therapeutic Riding in 2003 after a nephew was diagnosed with transverse myelitis. In 2004 they began development of a business model, became involved with The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), built a new stable, and converted an existing machine shed to an indoor riding arena.They received their 501 (c) (3) status from the IRS in 2006.
